No Return: Siisko and the Sound of Southern Bass Fusion

For Siisko (@iamsiisko_), DJing is about rhythm first. Raised in New Orleans with Central American roots, their sound blends Southern hip-hop, bounce, bass music, salsa, merengue, reggaeton, and underground club energy into sets that feel deeply tied to both culture and movement. The result is something unpredictable but intentional, balancing heavy bass pressure with groove, flow, and nonstop dance floor momentum. Ahead of NO RETURN at Santos Bar, we talked with Siisko about pacing a set, pulling inspiration from outside music, and why spaces like Santos thrive on variety and movement between scenes.

NOLA EDM: For people discovering you through No Return, who is Siisko? Tell us about your background, your sound, and what you bring to the dance floor.

Siisko: Born in New Orleans with my heritage tracing back to Central America. My sound is a culmination of New Orleans at its core, growing up listening to Southern hiphop and Bounce, I just love bass. On the flipside I had the gift to have Latin music being played at the same time by my parents whether it was Salsa or Merengue and growing up in a mixed community and early 00s Reggaeton and other Latin urban sounds has definitely shaped my sound a certain way. My sets is just a gumbo pot of sound and flavor.

NOLA EDM: No Return is centered around two stages and a very immersive, high-energy environment. What kind of energy are you planning to bring into the night?

Siisko: High Energy, just be ready to sweat and dance.

NOLA EDM: A lot of your sets balance intensity with groove and flow. How do you approach pacing a set and keeping people locked in from beginning to end?

Siisko: It always depends where in the night I am placed. I could either come out swinging straight out the gate or pace myself slowly into high energy and keep it there.

NOLA EDM: Santos has such a unique layout and energy compared to other venues in the city. What do you enjoy most about playing spaces like that?

Siisko:  Its unique in that the audience is able to choose beware stages and gives people a chance to bounce around listen to different things.

NOLA EDM: Outside of music, where are you pulling inspiration from creatively right now?

Siisko: Lots of different things, photography, sometimes anime, sometimes food, just anything really. I do spend a lot of time digging for new music.

NOLA EDM: Looking ahead through the rest of 2026, what should people keep an eye out for from you?

Siisko: Club Chido, thats it, we got some big things planned for the summer!
