⚜️ LA Psych Fest is Blue Widow’s most ambitious project to date — a one-day, multi-stage psychedelic music festival spanning Brickyard South and Chelsea’s Live in Baton Rouge. Built from years of intentional community-building, the festival brings together regional and national psych-punk, garage, and experimental artists to showcase Louisiana’s growing presence on the map. ⚜️
LA Psych Fest 2026: Louisiana Claims Its Place on the Psych Map
For the past two years, Blue Widow (@the_bluewidow) has been quietly building something special in Baton Rouge. Not just shows, but intentional gatherings centered on psychedelic music, punk energy, and immersive experience. Those nights, hosted roughly every four months, helped form a real community around the sound and culture.
Now, that momentum culminates in LA Psych Fest: a one-day, multi-stage festival that marks the collective’s biggest step yet.
Spanning Brickyard South and Chelsea’s Live, the festival expands what Blue Widow has been building into a full-scale journey — one that reflects the depth, diversity, and creative potential of Louisiana’s psych scene.
NOLA EDM: For people just hearing about LA Psych Fest for the first time — who are you, and what sparked the idea to bring a full-scale psych fest to Baton Rouge?
Blue Widow: We’re Blue Widow, a psych-punk collective based in Baton Rouge. While we’ve been touring regionally, our roots are firmly planted in Louisiana. For the past two years, we’ve been consistently throwing not just shows, but intentional, immersive events in Baton Rouge roughly every four months. Those nights helped us slowly build a real community around this music and culture. Throwing our own festival has always been the dream and after growing that community organically, we finally felt ready to take the next step and bring something bigger and more exciting to the table.
NOLA EDM: This is being billed as your biggest project yet — a one-day, multi-stage takeover across Brickyard South and Chelsea’s Live.
What does this scale allow you to do creatively that you couldn’t before?
Blue Widow: First and foremost, the multiple stages and extended run time allow us to include far more artists. One thing we’ve always wanted was to showcase a wider range of bands and sounds. In the past, our events typically featured 4-5 artists with LA Psych Fest, we’ve more than tripled that. Creatively, it lets us curate a full journey rather than a single moment: different rooms, different energies, and a much deeper experience for both artists and fans.
NOLA EDM: The lineup drops in early January — can you give us a hint at the kind of artists or energy people should expect? Any themes, scenes, or sounds you’re especially excited about?
Blue Widow: People can expect a wide spectrum of music. Everything from gritty psych-punk and garage to dreamy, hypnotic, and heavier experimental sounds. We were intentional about booking artists that give an immersive feel and are engaging live, not just sonically but visually as well. There’s a strong mix of regional Louisiana artists alongside national acts.
NOLA EDM: You called this “Louisiana claiming its spot on the map.” What do you hope LA Psych Fest represents for the local scene — and for people flying in to experience it?
Blue Widow: For the local scene, we hope it shows that Louisiana can support ambitious, independent festivals without needing outside validation. There’s so much talent here! This is about giving it a platform that feels real and intentional. For people coming in from out of town, we want it to feel like a discovery of great music, strong visuals, and a sense of place that’s very Louisiana and hard to replicate anywhere else.
