⚜️ New Orleans DJ Elliot From Earth brings genre-fluid curation, crowd intuition, and high-energy selections to Electric Spring Festival’s inaugural year. ⚜️
For Elliot From Earth (@elliot_from_earth), DJing starts long before the decks.
It begins in the search; digging through tracks, finding sounds that shift your perspective, and building a relationship with music that goes beyond the obvious. What started as a personal exploration of electronic music quickly evolved into a deeper practice of curation, where every set becomes a reflection of what he’s discovering in real time.
Now part of the lineup for the inaugural Electric Spring Festival, Elliot brings that same mindset to Music Box Village. He’s blending house, techno, and bass into sets that respond to both the space and the people in it. With a focus on energy, timing, and connection, his approach is less about sticking to one lane and more about guiding the room through a shared moment.
We caught up with Elliot From Earth to talk about musical discovery, festival energy, and what it means to be part of Electric Spring’s first year.
NOLA EDM: For people discovering you through Electric Spring Festival — who is Elliot From Earth?
Tell us about your background and the journey that led you into electronic music.
Elliot From Earth: Music has always been central to my life. I grew up a hip-hop head and gradually branched out into other genres. I discovered electronic music while studying in school, and it actually helped me focus and lock in with my ADHD. What pulled me deeper was realizing how much exists beyond the big names. Once you start digging, you discover an entire world of sounds and artists. Digging for music has been my hobby, and DJing naturally grew out of that as a way to share what I was finding.
NOLA EDM: Your name suggests a connection between music and something bigger than just the dance floor. How does the idea behind Elliot From Earth influence the way you approach your sound?
Elliot From Earth: I love introducing diversity into my sets and dropping tracks that surprise people when the moment is right. Every time I play out, I challenge myself to include music I’ve recently discovered. For me DJing is about curation. My sound evolves alongside my taste, so every set becomes a snapshot of what I’m excited about at that moment.
NOLA EDM: Electric Spring is highlighting a wide range of local DJs and producers. What does it mean to you to be part of the festival’s first year lineup?
Elliot From Earth: It’s an honor to be included and get to throw down alongside some of the best DJs in New Orleans. Being part of the first year of something new is always special.
NOLA EDM: Music Box Village is known for its immersive design and musical architecture. How do you imagine that kind of space shaping the experience of your set?
Elliot From Earth: As a DJ, I try to match the vibe while also helping create it. It’s an energy exchange between the music, the space, and the crowd. Music Box already has an incredible atmosphere. It’s the kind of place where that connection can really come alive.
NOLA EDM: When you’re preparing for a festival crowd, do you approach your set differently than you would for a club night?
Elliot From Earth: Definitely. A club night follows a different story arc than a festival. There’s an art to opening a club night. You’re warming the crowd up to dancing and introducing new ideas, so there’s a lot of restraint involved. At a festival people arrive ready to move. You can let the bangers rip right out of the gate.
NOLA EDM: The New Orleans electronic scene has been growing in new directions recently. From your perspective, what makes the city’s dance culture unique?
Elliot From Earth: New Orleans isn’t a pretentious city. From my experience, the community here doesn’t operate from a scarcity mindset. The scene is supportive and inclusive. Even events happening on the same night don’t feel like competition. They’re all contributing to the beautiful mosaic of our city’s nightlife.
NOLA EDM: When you’re playing and reading the room, what moments tell you the crowd is truly connected to the music?
Elliot From Earth: I watch the crowd closely and try to anticipate where they want the energy to go. One moment I love is when a track hits a breakdown and I pull the energy down. If the crowd quiets down with it, I know I’ve got their full attention.
NOLA EDM: Looking ahead through the rest of 2026, what projects, releases, or shows should people keep an eye out for from Elliot From Earth?
Elliot From Earth: This August I’ll be playing my first international set at Iceland Eclipse, a global gathering happening during the total solar eclipse in Iceland. I’m excited to bring my sound into that environment and share the experience with artists and audiences from around the world.
NOLA EDM: Anything you’d like the New Orleans dance community to know before Electric Spring kicks off at Music Box Village?
Elliot From Earth: You definitely don’t want to miss the first year of this festival. New Orleans always shows up for moments like this.
