Music Box Village is one of New Orleans’ most unique cultural spaces — an outdoor sonic sculpture garden built around the concept of “musical architecture.” Created by the nonprofit New Orleans Airlift, the venue features interactive musical houses and installations designed by artists, musicians, and inventors from around the world.
Located in the Bywater, the village functions as both a performance venue and experimental art space, hosting intimate concerts, artist residencies, workshops, and community gatherings. Visitors can explore the structures, interact with the instruments, and experience sound in ways that blur the lines between architecture, music, and public art.
Expect an open-air creative environment where music, art, and play collide. The space often features experimental performances, local musicians, immersive installations, and hands-on exploration of the musical houses. Events range from laid-back daytime explorations to unique ticketed performances under the stars.
