⚜️ From Bourbon Street to underground basements, DJ Flamingeaux channels the pulse of New Orleans through house, disco, and funk-infused sets that keep the dance floor glowing ’til sunrise. ⚜️
In this exclusive interview, we caught up with DJ Flamingeaux (@djflamingeaux) — a deep disco and tech house producer, the founder of NOLA House, and a self-proclaimed “curator of chaos.” After years performing across Miami and Napa Valley, Flamingeaux returns home this Halloween for a four-night run that celebrates community, connection, and the culture that raised him.
NOLA EDM: For those meeting you for the first time — who is Flamingeaux?
Flamingeaux: Flamingeaux is a deep disco and tech house producer, a DJ, and the founder of the NOLA House genre. At my core, I’m a host who loves to give people an excuse and a means to let the good times roll. I was raised in New Orleans, but the DJ was born in Miami, where I performed for nearly a decade after the storm. I came back to the music in 2020 and couldn’t be happier doing what I love full time.
NOLA EDM: Welcome back to NOLA for Halloween week! What’s on your schedule?
Flamingeaux: Each show brings something different. At Beach on Bourbon, I’ll drop high-energy mixes spanning the entire dance music era. Rabbit Hole will be heavier, more current disco and tech house, while 30/90 will be a full showcase of my NOLA House remixes with something deep, funky, and soulful.
NOLA EDM: What’s the creative thread across these Halloween sets?
Flamingeaux: This year’s run connects nostalgia with fresh energy. I’m dropping my first original release this weekend — three versions across three venues — and every set will highlight a different side of my sound
NOLA EDM: How are you tailoring each night to its room?
Flamingeaux: Friday? Full throttle with big-room tech house and multi-deck transitions. Rabbit Hole depends on the energy in the room, while 30/90 is pure Flamingeaux format: Deep Disco into Funk, into Nu Disco, into high-energy House.
NOLA EDM: Favorite Halloween memory behind the decks?
Flamingeaux: The Palms, 2013. Played until 9:15 a.m. and didn’t repeat a single track. That one still gives me chills.
NOLA EDM: What’s next for you?
Flamingeaux: I’ve got shows in San Francisco and Napa Valley, then I’m back home for three big NOLA events in November:
